
Stuart is a Partner in our Corporate Energy and Resources group. Stuart's experience lies in corporate and commercial law with an emphasis on issues related to investment into resource projects in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. Stuart has been involved in the acquisition, sale, development and ongoing operation of some of Australia's largest coal, uranium, minerals, gas and electricity projects.
For over 15 years, Stuart has worked on numerous energy and resources transactions in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. He assists clients by developing commercial solutions on major resources, carbon capture and storage, port and rail projects, including structuring of investments, government regulatory issues, land access issues, negotiating and drafting of commercial agreements, long-term commodity agreements, commodity handling agreements and shipping agreement associated with these projects.
Stuart's clients include some of the leading mining companies and trading houses from Japan, Korea, the Americas and India. Stuart also co-heads Clayton Utz's India practice nationally.
Stuart was identified among the world's leading energy and resources lawyers in the 2011 and again in the 2012 International Who's Who Legal. He is also an Industrial Fellow at the University of Queensland in relation to Mining and Petroleum Law.
