More than lawyers

The work we do is fantastic. It's important, challenging legal work, but its the people that have really made me feel that it's a place that I wanted to have my career at.

At Clayton Utz I've been given the opportunity to have flexible work practices such that even in the busiest times there are opportunities to work remotely and if I'm having an extremely busy day I should still be able to get home and be with the children for the dinner and read them a story and if I need to, I can log on from home and work at night to finish things off, and for me that's far more preferable than working through a period when I wouldn't be at home with my family, so I think if you're organised and you manage your time well Clayton Utz will help you with flexible work practices so you can achieve a genuine work life balance.

I've always thought that the law was a vehicle to achieving social justice and I guess that was something that attracted me to law in the first place. Certainly when I started my legal degree I had no expectation that I could do that within a corporate law firm.

In addition to that we have broader connections with the community. We are involved with many primary schools through pen pal programs or what we call Literary Buddies programs. We also assist in community legal services and just generally through the work of the Clayton Utz Foundation and contributions to charities, we do have that connection into the community.
